We back single mothers, protect vulnerable children, and lead climate resilience efforts across Rwanda's Muhanga, Karongi, and Kamonyi districts.
Based on the story of Tamar in the Bible (2 Samuel 13:1-19), Tamar was raped in the presence of many, but no one could help or advocate for her, as it was considered none of their business. Left alone in that shameful and difficult situation, she had no comfort or accompaniment.
HTFR started against this background to comfort young mothers who are victims of rape and gender-based violence, alongside their children who are often even more vulnerable than their mothers.
Vocational training in sewing, soap & lotion manufacturing, and reusable pad production.
School supplies, hygiene materials, and education support for children of single mothers.
Planting over 5 million trees and reclaiming 500 hectares of degraded land in Rwanda.
